Bikepacking 101: With J.P. Wanderwheels
Everything you need to start your journey!
Destination Cyclery | Friday, June 5th, 6-7pm
Curious about bikepacking but not sure where to start? Join us for a Bikepacking 101 night at Destination Cyclery with insider tips from J.P. Wanderwheels! We’ll cover the basics of planning an overnight adventure by bike — including gear, packing tips, route planning, bike setup, and what you really need (and don’t need) to get rolling. Bonus: Learn about how to test stuff out from the J.P. Wanderwheels Gear Library!
Whether you're dreaming about your first overnighter or looking to level up your weekend rides, this event is designed to make bikepacking approachable, fun, and achievable for riders of all riders.
Come hang out with fellow riders, ask questions, check out gear setups, and get inspired. No experience necessary — just bring your curiosity and sense of adventure.

NEXT RIDE
Join us for a beautiful summer cruise around the back dirt roads of Dexter, starting from our shop at and ending at Erratic Ale Co. where we can sip refreshing craft beers on their patio, and listen to live music! This is a no-drop ride, be ready to have fun!
IMPORTANT NOTES FOR THIS RIDE
-If you need to purchase anything from the shop, or if you need to rent a bike for this ride, please arrive before 5pm. Otherwise we will start gathering at 6pm with a target to roll by 6:20pm.
-Helmets are required, please.
-Some cycling experience is preferred, but not required.
-Please be prepared for some hills when leaving downtown Dexter.
-We recommend dressing for comfort. Many of us will be wearing lycra.
-This is a no-drop ride, so we will wait for each other at stop signs and important points in the route.
-Keep the safety of your fellow riders in mind. Communication is key, so call-out cars, pot holes, obstacles in road, and look out for each other, please. Staying to the right of the road is very important!
